What is included, what is extra, and when each part is paid.
At Oxford Medical Kuwait the cost of an IVF cycle is set out in a written, itemised estimate in English and Arabic before you start. Monitoring visits are paid as you go; the main cycle fee is paid once, on the day of egg collection; a frozen embryo transfer and yearly storage are paid later, only if and when they happen. Medicines from the pharmacy are separate, and there is no deposit and no fee for a cancelled cycle.
At Oxford Medical Kuwait an IVF cycle is paid in the order it happens: screening tests before you start (brought from any laboratory, or taken here); monitoring scans and hormone tests paid visit by visit; one payment on the day of egg collection for the doctor's fee, the laboratory, and freezing or the fresh transfer; and, later, a frozen embryo transfer and yearly storage, only if and when they happen.
| When | What is paid | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Before you start | The infection screen both partners need before IVF (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis; rubella immunity for the woman). | Bring results from any laboratory, valid for 12 months, and pay nothing; or have them taken here and pay at reception. |
| As you go | Each monitoring visit: the scan and the four hormone tests (FSH, LH, oestradiol, progesterone). | Paid at reception after each visit. Never a deposit and never part of the cycle price, so a cancelled cycle owes only the visits already had. |
| On the day of egg collection | One payment: the doctor's egg-retrieval fee; the laboratory fee (egg collection, anaesthesia, ICSI and culture to the blastocyst stage); embryo or egg freezing including four straws and the first year of storage, or the fresh transfer; and genetic testing if you chose it. | Nobody is asked to pay on trigger day. The doctor's fee is lower on a second cycle and lower again from the third. |
| Later | A frozen embryo transfer, when you return for it; storage renewal once a year, at the same price as the first year. | Paid only if and when they happen. |
The egg-collection payment includes the retrieval, anaesthesia, ICSI, culture to Day 5, and either freezing with four straws and a year of storage or a fresh transfer. Medicines from the pharmacy are separate. Extra straws, the laboratory techniques decided on the day (such as sperm-selection methods), a Friday or public-holiday surcharge, and surgical sperm retrieval are charged only when they apply, and the estimate lists each one.
At the consultation, once the plan is known. Every patient receives a written, itemised estimate in English and Arabic, organised by when each part is paid, with one definitive figure for the egg-collection payment and a list of the costs that could still arise. We do not publish a price list because a single headline number misleads: the figure depends on the plan, on whether embryos are frozen or transferred fresh, on genetic testing, and on whether it is your first cycle with us.
The estimate names the tariff version and date it was given on, and an episode that has started stays on the tariff it began on. Prices agreed individually are shown as agreed; the standard price is not printed beside them unless you ask for it.
For a figure for your own situation, book a consultation on WhatsApp +965 6620 2241 or ask the question there; what the consultation involves is on the first consultation page.
Compare what a quoted price includes, not the headline number. Ask each clinic whether the figure covers anaesthesia, ICSI, culture to Day 5, freezing and the first year of storage, and the frozen transfer; whether genetic testing is per embryo or a fixed maximum; what happens to the money if the cycle is cancelled or nothing can be frozen; and whether the doctor's fee changes on a second cycle. Then compare like with like.
A package that appears cheaper is sometimes a fresh-transfer-only price with freezing, storage, the frozen transfer and genetic testing added afterwards. The honest comparison is the total for the cycle you are actually likely to have. The same questions, and the rest of what to look for in a clinic, are in how to choose an IVF doctor in Kuwait.
The figure depends on the plan, so it is given in a written, itemised estimate at the consultation rather than as a single published price. The main cycle fee is paid once, on the day of egg collection, and covers the retrieval, anaesthesia, ICSI, culture to Day 5 and either freezing with a year of storage or a fresh transfer. Monitoring is paid visit by visit, medicines are bought from the pharmacy, and a frozen transfer is paid only when it happens.
No. There is no deposit. Monitoring visits are paid as you go, the cycle fee is paid on the day of egg collection, and later steps are paid when they happen.
If the cycle stops before egg collection, you have paid only the monitoring visits you had; there is no abandoned-cycle fee. If eggs are collected but nothing can be frozen, the freezing fee becomes a credit against your next cycle or transfer, and a genetic-testing biopsy fee is refunded.
No. At Oxford Medical PGT-A, PGT-M and PGT-SR are each priced as a maximum however many embryos are tested. The biopsy fee is a flat amount paid with the egg-collection payment and refunded if no embryo reaches biopsy. Some patients on an earlier arrangement are charged per embryo; their estimate says so.
No. The stimulation injections, the trigger and the luteal support are bought from the pharmacy on our prescription. The amount varies with your dose, and the estimate gives a typical range so that it is not a surprise.
The doctor's egg-retrieval fee is lower on a second cycle at Oxford Medical and lower again from the third; the laboratory and freezing fees are the same each time. The estimate shows which cycle it is for.
Book a consultation, or ask on WhatsApp. The estimate is itemised, bilingual, and organised by when each part is paid.
