Why the UK

Trained where the details matter.

I chose the UK because their training really focuses on the details that make a difference in patient outcomes. I saw a wide range of cases and learned how to choose the right plan for each person — not the same approach for everyone.

That's what helped me come back confident I can give every patient a plan tailored to her needs and improve her chances of success.

Training

A decade across the UK.

  • 2021
Subspecialty in fertility & reproductive medicine Postgraduate subspecialty training completed in the United Kingdom, with a specific focus on fertility, assisted reproduction, and recurrent IVF failure.
  • 10+ yrs
UK speciality training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Trained across multiple NHS hospitals in both the north and south of the UK. Wide exposure to obstetric and gynaecological practice from straightforward to complex cases.
  • Focus
Recurrent IVF failure & individualised planning Each patient is reviewed individually. The plan is built around her specific reserve, history, and previous response — not a default protocol.
Clinical focus

What she treats.

  • Fertility & assisted reproduction

Diagnostic workup, ovulation induction, IUI, IVF planning, and individualised stimulation protocols. Subspecialty focus on optimising the plan for each patient's reserve and history.

  • Recurrent IVF failure

Structured review of previous cycles to identify what changed the outcome — egg quality, sperm factor, endometrial preparation, immune or thrombophilia factors — and a different protocol for the next cycle.

  • Recurrent miscarriage

Comprehensive workup across genetic, anatomical, endocrine, immune, thrombophilia, and lifestyle factors. Plan for the next pregnancy informed by what the workup actually shows.

  • Antenatal care

Routine and higher-risk pregnancy care, including pregnancies after fertility treatment, gestational diabetes, hypertension, and previous adverse outcomes.

  • General gynaecology

Menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, contraception review, and pre-conception counselling.

  • Aesthetic gynaecology

A focused area of her practice — treatments that address comfort, function, and confidence. Labiaplasty, post-childbirth restoration, vaginal rejuvenation, and laser-based therapies. Discreet, individualised consultations.

  • Second opinions

For any fertility, obstetric, or gynaecological diagnosis you want to review with another experienced specialist before making a decision.

Common questions

Before your first visit.

Can I consult in Arabic?

Yes. Dr Alrashid is a native Arabic speaker — Khaleeji Arabic and English are both available. Choose whichever language helps you ask the questions that matter.

What should I bring to my first consultation?

Any recent ultrasound or blood test results (including AMH, FSH, TSH if available), a list of current medications, prior IVF cycle reports if relevant, and a summary of previous pregnancies or gynaecological procedures. If you don't have any of this, a consultation can still be useful — come as you are.

How long is a typical consultation?

First consultations are 30 minutes — designed to be a structured review of your history and current question, not a rushed visit. Follow-ups are 20 minutes.

Can my husband or mother be present?

Yes, or no. Entirely your choice. Consultations can be one-on-one or with a family member in the room. Whatever helps you speak openly about what matters to you.

How does Dr Alrashid work alongside Prof Nelson?

Patients undergoing IVF benefit from both. Prof Nelson leads the fertility cycle; Dr Alrashid leads obstetric care once pregnancy is confirmed and provides continuity for gynaecology and recurrent miscarriage. Patients who prefer a female Arabic-speaking specialist for fertility consultations can see Dr Alrashid throughout.
